Welcome To A Woman's Perogative - A site dedicated to the inspiration and information of African-American women who have chosen to date across racial and ethnic lines.
Statistics show that African-American men ages 25-35 are less likely to date and marry African-American women within this age range.

There is no shortage of African-American women however African-American men are choosing, more than ever to date and marry women who are not of their race or ethnicity.

So Black woman (or African-American woman, if that's what you would rather be called), where does that leave you?

What's really best for you?
Why should you out of some false sense of loyalty, be lonely, without intimacy, companionship, or even a family of your own simply because a man is not of your race?

Why should race be the sole or major indicator of a prospective spouse or companion? Should you allow yourself to grow old, alone, and/or bitter as so many African-American women have? You know the sistahs who cringe and go off on a hot tirade about "the brothas always dating and having babies with white girls, etc."

Do you want to end up that way? Or worse, is that sistah already you?

It's time to ask the hard questions and take action!
Then it's time for you to open your mind! Hold on, we're not talking about "a two can play that game" mindset where you out of a silly sense of revenge date outside of your race.

I'm talking about seriously considering the prospect of dating a man who may not be Black but who may love you more than you could've ever imagined that you could be loved, African-American heritage and all!

Feel free to make any suggestion, ask questions, or make comments
As you contemplate the questions noted above, please know that this is just the beginning. This site hopes to provoke thought and healthy discussion between African-American women and their quest for love and acceptance.

You deserve to be respected and no matter what his racial and ethnic background maybe, you deserve to have a man who thinks the world of you, not because you're black, but because you are you!
